There is / There are - يوجد / توجد

'There is' and 'there are' are used to say that something exists or is present in a place. This structure is common in descriptions, emails, and everyday speech.

تُستخدم 'There is' و'There are' للتعبير عن وجود شيء أو حضوره في مكان ما. وهذا التركيب شائع في الأوصاف والرسائل والكلام اليومي.

القاعدة النحوية

Use 'there is' (or 'there's') with singular or uncountable nouns. Use 'there are' with plural nouns. The word 'there' is not a location here - it is a grammatical placeholder to introduce the real subject. To make the negative, say 'there isn't' or 'there aren't'. To ask a question, invert: 'Is there a...?' or 'Are there any...?'

استخدم 'there is' أو 'there's' مع الاسم المفرد أو غير المعدود. واستخدم 'there are' مع الاسم الجمع. وكلمة 'there' هنا ليست مكاناً، بل هي عنصر نحوي يُستخدم لتقديم الفاعل الحقيقي. وللنفي نقول 'there isn't' أو 'there aren't'. وللسؤال نقول: 'Is there a...?' أو 'Are there any...?'

Common Mistakes

There are a solution.→There is a solution.

'Solution' is singular - use 'there is'.

كلمة 'solution' مفردة - لذلك استخدم 'there is'.

Is there any chairs?→Are there any chairs?

'Chairs' is plural - use 'are there'.

كلمة 'chairs' جمع - لذلك استخدم 'are there'.

There is no have a printer.→There isn't a printer.

Use 'there isn't/aren't' to make this structure negative - not 'no have'.
