Who We Are
Lumena Academy (by Learn English With Us) is an online English learning platform for Arabic speakers, available at learnenglishwithus.org. We provide free audio lessons, grammar exercises, quizzes, and an AI-powered classroom assistant.

Analytics
We use analytics to understand how learners use the platform so we can improve lesson content and navigation. Analytics data is:

- Never sold to third parties
- Used only to improve the educational experience

- Newsletter / waitlist updates — only if you voluntarily subscribe via our site

Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including:
- Passwords hashed with bcrypt (work factor 12) — never stored in plain text
- Short-lived authentication tokens (access tokens expire in 15 minutes)
- HTTPS enforced across all pages
- httpOnly cookies for refresh tokens — inaccessible to JavaScript
- Rate limiting on all authentication endpoints to prevent brute-force attacks

Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Upon a deletion request, we permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except where legally required to retain it.
Learning progress stored in your browser's localStorage is entirely under your control — clear it anytime in your browser settings.
Children's Privacy
Our platform is designed for adult learners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For significant changes, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
