What Is a Daily Routine?

A daily routine is the group of things you do every day. Most people have a morning routine, an afternoon routine, and an evening routine. When you talk about your routine in English, you use the present simple tense. This is the easiest tense in English. You use it for things that happen again and again.

The Present Simple for Routines

The present simpleuses the base form of the verb. For "I", "you", "we", and "they", you do not change the verb. For "he", "she", and "it", you add -s or -esto the end. For example: "I eat breakfast" but "She eats breakfast." This is the only rule you need for now.

Time Words for Your Routine

When you talk about your routine, you often use time words. These words tell people when you do things. The most useful time words are: in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, at night, every day, and then. You put these words at the start or end of your sentence.
