If STEP makes you nervous, you are in the right place.
Most Saudi students feel the same way before STEP.
You understand some English, but the exam feels too fast, too big, too formal.
That feeling is normal. It does not mean you are weak.
It means nobody has shown you what STEP actually tests — and how to practise for it in a way that makes sense.
That is exactly what this section does.
No pressure. No countdowns. Just real practice, explained clearly, with Arabic when you need it.
What is the STEP exam?
STEP stands for Standardized Test of English Proficiency.
It is Saudi Arabia's national English test, managed by Qiyas.
Universities, scholarship programmes, and many government jobs require a STEP score.
100 multiple-choice questions
About 2.5 hours
Score range: 1–100
Most universities require 65–83

STEP is your door. English is the key.
Every year, thousands of Saudi students use STEP scores to enter university, win scholarships, and start careers in government and business. The students who succeed are not geniuses — they are the ones who practised. You are practising right now.
How STEP English works
See where you are
Your skills dashboard shows your progress across all five STEP areas. Start anywhere — listening, grammar, vocabulary. There is no fixed order.
Practise what matters
Each skill has focused exercises in STEP format. You get instant feedback with clear explanations in Arabic — so you understand why, not just what.
Test yourself when you are ready
Take a full mock test to see how far you have come. Review your mistakes. Focus on your weakest area. Then practise again. That is how real progress works.
Exam tips from real experience
Simple strategies that save time and reduce stress on test day.
In the real exam, you hear each audio clip only once. Practise listening without pressing replay — it builds the focus you need.
Read the questions first, then read the passage. You will know exactly what to look for — and finish faster.
Most grammar questions test tenses. If you master present simple, past simple, and present perfect — you cover over half of them.
If you do not know a word, read the full sentence around it. The meaning is almost always hidden in the context.
What makes this different
Real English, not exam tricks
We do not teach you to guess answers. We teach you English that works in STEP and in real life — at the airport, in a meeting, at university.
Arabic when you need it
Every grammar rule is explained in Arabic. Every vocabulary word has an Arabic definition. Every strategy tip is written in your language first.
No shame, no pressure
Get a question wrong? Good. Now you know what to study. There are no leaderboards, no public scores, no countdown timers. Just you, learning.
You are not the only one preparing.
Over 670,000 YouTube subscribers trust this platform to learn English. Thousands of Saudi students use our grammar and listening courses every month. Now, the same teaching quality is focused on STEP.

Frequently asked questions
هل هذا كافٍ للتحضير لاختبار STEP؟Is this enough to prepare for STEP?+
This section covers all five STEP skill areas with over 710 exercises. Combined with consistent daily practice, it gives you a strong foundation. We recommend 30 minutes a day for 6–8 weeks before your exam.
هل هذه أسئلة اختبار STEP حقيقية؟Are these real STEP exam questions?+
No. These are practice questions designed to match the STEP format and difficulty level. They are not from actual past exams. They are written specifically to help you build the skills STEP tests.
ما الدرجة التي يمكنني توقّعها بعد استخدام هذا القسم؟What score can I expect after using this?+
We cannot guarantee a specific score — that depends on your starting level, how much you practise, and many other factors. What we can promise is that consistent practice here will improve your English skills across all five STEP areas.
هل يجب أن أنهي دورات أخرى أولًا؟Do I need to finish other courses first?+
No. You can start STEP preparation directly. However, if you are a complete beginner, we recommend starting with our Absolute Beginner or Grammar Foundations courses first. Those skills feed directly into STEP preparation.
ما مستوى الإنجليزية الذي أحتاجه؟What level of English do I need?+
STEP preparation content is designed for A2 to B1 level learners — students who know some English but want to strengthen it. If you can understand this sentence, you are ready to start.
هل STEP نفس الآيلتس؟Is STEP the same as IELTS?+
No. STEP is a Saudi-specific exam managed by Qiyas. IELTS is an international exam managed by the British Council and IDP. They test similar skills but have different formats, scoring systems, and requirements. Many of our exercises help with both.
